Analytical Voyages #1 - Exclusive Interview with Kunaal Naik

Senior Data Scientist at Dell Technologies

I have always felt the importance of community in learning. While it is important to be good at learning on our own, it is imperative to learn from the wisdom of others. We can accelerate our learning process by listening and understanding other’s journey. While we need to walk our own path, it is good to know someone else have gone through the same path. As part of this, we started this interview series “Analytical Voyages” featuring industry experts in global data science community.

As part of this series, today we are going to talk with Kunaal Naik. Kunaal works as Senior Data Scientist at Dell Technologies and founder of datasciencemasterminds.com. Though he accidentally ventured into data science, his passion for it has grown ever since. So here is our conversation with Kunaal about his journey, his views on present and future of data science.

When we asked about his journey into data science and why he choose this field, Kunaal answered candidly and openly about his journey into computer science and how he felt discontent with mere coding jobs which will not help him find his callings during his placements. Based on guidance from his friend at IIT Madras and curiosity for emerging field of data science, he enrolled for a course in 2010 and never looked back ever since.
